Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) Fact Sheet

evMe is a fully digital vehicle managed by the vehicle control unit (VCU) . The VCU handles functions such as startup, shutdown, speed control, charging and overall energy management with an overarching responsibility for safety.

During charging the VCU ensures the safe recharging of the evMe by enforcing the following charging sequence:

1. Initiated by applying mains power to the charge port.
2. Vehicle checks that ignition is off, hand brake on, gear selector in park. 
3. The state of the battery is checked and the charge rate is automatically set.
4. The charge state is indicated by:
   Slow flashing green - charging,
   Fast flashing green - nearly complete,
   Steady green - complete.
